English Poem for Kids
This poem is in English and I wrote it for my daughter’s school project. For the last week, my wife and I have been searching a lot on the internet for a suitable poem that my daughter could use–she is the 1st grade and has a poetry recitation competition coming up. So, after tiring from searching, I decided to quickly pen down some lines that my daughter could use.
I fiddled with a couple of titles for the poem but we finally settled on this one:

Why children are awake
Birds are singing;
Bells are ringing.
Flowers are sweet;
In rain and heat.
Stars are shining;
Children are awake,
Because they want to run
To swim in the lake.

My wife like it because it sweet and short and easy for my daughter to remember and do some actions to while reciting it.
Feel free to use if you like it and share your thoughts.
Hindi Poem for Class 1
Hindi Poem for Class 1 Students
My daughter studies in first grade and she often comes home with a request or the ‘homework’, which is actually parents’ work to prepare a short poem so that she could recite it. While it is a wonderful activity for children as they learn to speak new words, get over their stage-fear, and also get to know the language better, it is very difficult to find suitable poems for children of such age to recite.
I have faced this problem many times. My wife keeps prodding me why I don’t write some poems for her because I claim to be a poet. Well, lately, I have given it a thought and have decided that whenever I could, I will write short poems that I could share here on my blogs for parents who are looking for new poems in Hindi for their children.
I am sharing the first such poem that I wrote–please feel free to leave a comment or suggestion or any type of feedback if you found it useful for your child.

Hindi Poem for 1st Grade
Hindi Poem for 1st Grade
I have never written poetry specifically for children, but have dabbled a bit in the Hindi language for my daughter who is in 1st grade. She often requires a poem or a story to recite in the school. Her mother prepares her for the recitation but she often approaches me to find out suitable poems or stories or try writing them.
However, lately, I have found writing these small poems in Hindi suitable for kids quite interesting. They are no-brainer and can be written quite easily and quickly.
Here I am sharing another poem that I wrote. This is suitable for 1st graders. If you like it, you can use it for your child’s project in the school. At the same time, if you have any feedback or suggestion, please feel free to share it through the comment section.

Short Poem On Nature In Hindi For Class 1
Hindi poem for kids
Well, this title itself describes the issue that a lot of parents face nowadays. I remember, during our early school-years, we never had such an issue. Whatever the teacher wanted us to do or perform, they would make us prepare on their own. But I don’t deny the fact that such activities where children have to recite poems, short stories etc. are good for their overall development.
While searching for suggestions of titles, I came across this long phrase “Short Poem On Nature In Hindi For Class 1”. I just wrote a short poem for this purpose only so that parents could use this poem for their children.
Feel free to shorten it or use it as a whole depending on the time that you have to prepare your child memorizing it. Also, if you would like to share any feedback or suggestion, please feel free to write through the comment section.

Nursery Rhymes for KG Class
Lately, I have been writing a few poems and short stories for my daughter who is in the 1st grade, which I think can be used by other parents as homework for their children. I am sharing them here on my website whenever I write them.
The main motive behind writing these poems and short stories is to address the issue of finding new rhymes and stories for kids when they are given some homework in the form of memorizing them and reciting them.
Hope some of them could be used for children who are looking for nursery rhymes for KG class.

Indian Nursery Rhymes in Hindi
I was particularly inclined to write this short Hindi nursery rhyme on a cap because my mother just weaved me a nice woolen cap for winters. It fits perfectly and I am looking forward to wearing it.
So, I molded the emotion a bit and wrote the poem from a child’s perspective. I hope will like it.

Nursery Poem on Trees in Hindi
With a mixed feeling of mild surprise and vindication of the appropriate strategy, I have noticed that users have started landing on my website searching for nursery rhymes and short poems in the Hindi language. The first search that I noticed came somewhere from the US, which is no surprise at all as a lot of expats living in the US are looking to teach Hindi to their children.
This, of course, has encouraged me to keep writing more such poems and nursery rhymes. The main motive, as you know by now, is to make such poems, stories, and rhymes available to parents who are looking for new material for homework and other school activities. The old material seems to be overused and sound stale.
I am presenting a new nursery rhyme in Hindi that I just wrote. It is about trees and nature in general. Feel free to use it if you need.

Short Hindi Poem Based on Children’s Day
Once again, I wrote this poem for my daughter when my wife came to me saying that she has received a message from her teacher to have her prepare a Children’s Day poem. It was on a very short notice, but because we had the option to get a very short poem, I thought of writing it on my own rather than wasting time on searching online.
It’s is quite easy to remember and even children of nursery and KG classes can use it for their own schools.

My wife suggested that we can even use भेद-भाव instead of वैर-भाव which also fits nicely in that line. So, you have the option to choose any as per your liking.
Short Hindi Poem on Winter Season for Nursery Class
Winters are here and it is time enjoy some delicious home-grown vegetables including radish, carrots, and cauliflower. Though winters are tough to bear, the time is best to do heavy eating.
It is while thinking of these delicacies that I thought about writing a short 4-liner on the winter season in Hindi. It is a short and sweet Hindi poem for children who are studying the nursery class.
Feel free to twist and turn it if you feel like to make your kid memorize it easily. Also, if you would like to add 2-3 lines to it to make it more impactful, do share through the comment season for the benefit of other users.

Poem on Winter Season in Hindi for Class 2
I have seen children reciting poems with fervor and passion given that they really understand and enjoy the meaning of the poem. This is where the art of writing poetry for children comes into play because you have to be careful about the context and easiness of the words that you are using in the poem.
I have found this particularly difficult and limiting because I have never written poems for kids in the past–it’s only recently that I started writing these short and small poems geared towards children because my daughter needed them in her school for many activities.
Below is a poem which is bit lengthy and may be suitable for a class 1 or class 2 student. Feel free to use it if you like it.

Short Poem on Nature in English for Class 1
This is a short poem that can be easily memorized by kids of the 1st standard or even lower classes. The best thing about this poem is that it can be recited on any special day which is associated with kite flying in various regions.
Like in Punjab, kite flying is associated with Basant Panchami; in Delhi and many other areas, it is associated with the Independence Day; in many other areas of the country, it is associated with the festival of Lohri or Pongal and Ugadi etc.
Feel free to use this poem if you would like your kid to memorize it and use it in any activity in the school.

Hindi Poem on Good Children for Class 1
Here’s another poem in the Hindi language for kids of 1st grade or lower. It’s a short and sweet poem showing that kids are innocent and obedient and agrees with whatever their elders tell them to.
I wrote it yesterday observing my daughter taking milk while we were enjoying the winter sun in our house. Though she is very naughty and does not listen to her mother or me, this poem suits the children so that they could start doing it.
If you feel like, you can use it for any school activity or competition.

Hindi Poem on Cleanliness for Class 1
Cleanliness is considered godliness, and without doubt, children should be made aware of keeping themselves and their environment clean right from an early stage. With the increasing number of diseases that spread from polluted water, air, and the whole environment, it is our duty to make our children conscious of the miserable state of our surroundings.
In this regard, I composed this Hindi poem for children so that they could understand the value of cleanliness–I think it would be suitable for children of grade 1st though even 2nd class students could also use it.
Feel free to use it if you like it, and also if you would like to share similar stuff with other users, you can write through the comment section.

Poem on Save Water in Hindi for Class 3
One of the main objectives of making school children recite poetry in various languages including the regional, national as well in English is to make them aware of the social and environmental issues that the society is facing, and how through these poems the children could be made aware so that they could participate in their little but impactful way.
Because of this, a lot of schools and educations institutions make them recite poems on water, trees, pollution, environment, birds etc. and also on human values.
Taking a cue from such search queries on Google, I wrote this poem that encourages children to save water. I feel this poem is appropriate for the children who are studying in class 2 or 3. Feel free to let us know your feedback or suggestions.
